BOOT CAMP
The Body of Christ is entering into a training time so that we will be prepared for the next phase of our Christian walk-You can be a Christian-saved, sanctified, going to heaven, without being CHRIST LIKE.
Basic Training-often called boot camp-prepares recruits for all elements of service: physical, mental and emotional. It gives service members the basic tools to perform the roles that will be asked of them for the duration of their service. Each of the Services has its own training program, tailoring the curriculum to the specialized nature of its role in the Military.
No matter which branch of the Service a recruit chooses. Basic training is an intense experience. About 90% of recruits make it though boot camp. The purpose of this training isn't to "break" recruits. In fact the combination of physical training, field exercises and classroom time makes individuals strong and capable. It's a tough process, but rewarding one that many service members value for life. Training takes a young man or woman from their civilian life to military life.
A young person entering basic traning learns how to live a military lifestyle, they are broken down to be built back up again a process that makes each person become a team player.
No matter your age today, or your circumstances the Lord has prepared a season of basics. Examine-your heart, ask God to reveal areas that will make you "Christ like" not just a Christian, but not a martyr.
Question- What benefits do you gain by not becoming Christ like?
Wisdom from the Word-"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." (2 Timothy 1:7)

A WHO DONE IT?
Instead of the normal fund-raiser dinner my daughter-in law staged a Murder Mystery-to raise money to support her walk for breast cancer. My part was a woman with an anti-business issue based on the fact my brother broke into a business and died there. I was accused of course of the murder of the president of the corporation-I was innocent. My character was focused, annoying, and it was fun to play the part.
How many times do we live in our emotions? The character Hazel lived in her grief, justified her behavior and was anti-social thruout the program. Do you ever live out of your passion and therefore selfishly ignore the rights and needs of others? Sure we all do sometimes. Road rage is an example of emotion gone wild.
Wisdom from the Word-"The things we see now are here today, gone tomorrow. But the things we can't see now will last forever." (2 Corinthians 4:18b)
Lord help us to live a purpose driven life, give us the purpose you are passionate about today!

LIVE TOGETHER IN UNITY (2)
One of the most beautiful pictures of Christian fellowship is that of Priscilla, her husband Aquila, and the apostle Paul. Priscilla was one of the most prominent women in the New Testament church-she was actively engaged in promoting the cause of Christ in Corinth, Ephesus and Rome.
Paul found employment with Aquila and Priscilla in their tent making business. As they worked together Paul began to share of Jesus and His great salvation. Soon their friendship was cemented with the bond of the love of Christ and they began to see Corinth as a great mission field. Corinth was known as a city of vices-it was one of the most beautiful cities in the ancient world. One by one many of their Jewish friends and family accepted Jesus.
In Jesus' life we saw Lazarus, Martha, and Mary. In Paul's life we see Priscilla and Aquila. Leaving TImothy and Silas to carry on the work in Corinth, Paul left for Jerusalem (Acts 18:5, 18).
Aquila and Priscilla complemented each other, capitalizing on each other's strengths to form an effective team. They are never mentioned separately in the Bible. In marriage and in ministry, they were together. Couples can have an effective ministry together. The home is a valuable tool for evangelism.
Wisdom from the Word-"Greet Priscilla and Aquila, my fellow workers in Christ Jesus. They risked their lives for me, not only I but all the churches of the Gentiles are greateful to them." Romans 16:3, 4 |

LIVE TOGETHER IN UNITY
True friendship is a rare and beautiful thing. Friends relate to each other by esteem, respect and affection. For many years ( 16 years) I led a Tuesday morning bible study at Christ Fellowship-As I taught the bible study I learned about life from the people who attended. The bible tells us that a friend loves at all times and that friendship has the quality of intimacy (John 15:15)
In a church as members we ask the wrong question...It's not what can the church do for us! We need to ask What can I do for the Church?-God blesses proper motives. It really is all about HIM! Not You! Not me! It is about HIM!
God called Abraham, the friend of God. David and Jonathan's friendship speaks of a friend who sticks closer than a brother. Friendship is goodwill, harmony, kindness, it is spiritual, steady, loyalty, a relationship that can last a lifetime. When friendships are based on fellowship with God, service and co-laboring in kingdom vision there is an added foundation..."greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." (John 15:13) Real friends can be trusted to do good.
Wisdom from the Word-"See how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to live together in UNITY!" |

25 YEARS IN MINISTRY
Saturday I was honored at a surprize dinner and reception to celebrate 25 Years in Ministry. Also as of June 12, 2010 I celebrated my 18th Year of being an Ordained Minister. Wow how fast time flies when you are having fun or at least doing the things that you love to do. Sixty-four people came to share and encourage me in the Lord. Looking back I saw a whirlwind of meetings, fun, and just the practical things of life -birth, death, VBS, meetings, prayer, luncheons, parties, graduations, weddings, praise and worship, and daily walking with our Lord Jesus Christ.
The food was wonderful, fellowship memorable, and the stories entertaining! So many exciting testamonies of God's grace. It was great to see friends that I haven't seen in a while and to remember when.......It was fun to hear the laughter of children-a new generation.
As I was teaching the Word of God, I learned from the people who attended my meetings how to live the Christian life. It was a WIN/WIN Deal and I Won and grew in the Lord. Thanks for the memories. Now begins the next 25 years of Ministry.
Thank you Ray, Alicia, Nathan, Katie, James, Angela, Jacob, Hollynn, Michelle, Jonathan,, Mike, Jacob, and all my family and friends. A special thanks to New Covenant Church of God in McDonough, GA. On the way to the church Ray passed a police car, turned around, asked if they had eaten yet and invited the officer to the party-two officers did come and so we had "new" friends.
Most of all thanks Father for allowing me to minister to your people and serve you here on earth preparing for your eternal kingdom. Great boss, great job.
