MARRIAGE SEMINAR
While attending a Marriage Seminar on communication, Tom and his wife listened to the instructor, "It is essential that husbands and wives know each other's likes and dislikes." He addressed the men, "Can you name your wife's favorite flower?" Tom leaned over, touched his wife's arm gently and whispered, "it's Pillsbury, isn't it?"
Wisdom from the Word-"...a wise, understanding, and prudent wife is from the Lord." ( Proverbs 19:14
I think marriage is a combination of the greatest relationship possible-the closeness, friendship, intimacy and at the same time the most challenging. God knew that oneness and building a home would take strength, love, patience and JOY. This season many are celebrating weddings. Preparation for marriage involves each becoming whole in Christ then uniting as husband and wife. If the challenges seem to out number the JOYS you may need a time out to renew your love, affection, and fall in love all over again!
"I am my beloved's, and his desire is toward me. Many waters cannot quench love, neither can floods drown it." (Song of Solomon 7:10, 8:7) |

THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD
A Sunday school teacher asked her 2nd grade class to memorize Psalm 23.
One boy practiced and practiced. The day came for the children to recite the 23rd Psalm before the congregation. The boy was nervous. When his turn came, he stepped up to the microphone and proudly said, "The Lord is my Shepherd and that's all I need to know," then sat down.
Lord, help us to keep the main thing, the main thing, in Jesus wonderful name, amen. |

BAIL OUT
When I hear the phrase Bail-Out I think of a ship filling with water. Do you remember the Titanic? The key of course is to find out where the water is coming in, stop it, repair it or look for a life boat.
David lost everyting at Ziklag. The Amalekites came and burnt all their houses, and took the women and children captive. David and all his men wept until they were totally worn out-both of David's wives were gone, all his men blamed him, and they were talking of stoning him-a rough day for sure. But David found strength in the Lord His God.
What did David do? He went to the Priest and requested an ephod. An ephod is a sacred linen garment worn by the high priests of Israel as they performed sacerdotal functions. (Weddings, Services, Funerals, Baptisms, and Communion). When David called for the ephod, he was asking for the direction of God. "Pursue them," God answered, "You will certainly overtake them and succeed in rescuing your families."
Wisdom from the Word-"The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in HIM." Nahum 1:7 |

PRAYER
The National Day of Prayer, established by Congress in 1952, is being sued by The Freedom From Religion Foundation. The National Day of Prayer has provided an opportunity for all Americans to voluntarily pray for our nation according to their own faith. As an American I am offended that the impact of just a few can change my rights as a christian. This will be an act of distruction that will reverbrate as a victory for hell itself, however the Word of God says, "if My people, who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and forgive their sin and will HEAL THEIR LAND." 2 CHRONICLES 7:14
Father, we thank you for turning this situation for your glory and be glorified as your people unify and stand firm in prayer, in action, and in victory for your names sake, in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus, amen.
*April 15, 2010...A federal judge in Wisconsin ruled that federal statute that sets a day for the National Day of Prayer violates the Establishment clause of the First Amendment. The Freedom from Religion Foundation claimed that the National Day of Prayer creates a "hostle environment" for nonbelievers and filed the lawsuit to abolish this religious event. |

THE BREAKING PROCESS
Can your possessions, your career or personal relationships cause you to detour on your path of life?
"Your kingdom come, Your will be done." Mt 6:10- In the breaking process God is the source of your worth. (1.) Brokenness is costly-it happens in stages, and (2.) Discipline is vital. "I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified" (1 Co. 9:27) The real issue in brokenness is submitting to God's control. I find it easy to be the one in charge, Lord help me allow you to be the one in control. |
